GERMAID

„Be cheeky and wild and wonderful!“ (Pippi Långstrump)

Following this mission Germaid always used to create her own world all by herself... In the age of 11 she wrote her first song and taught herself how to play the guitar. In the beginning she went through the school of Rock'n'Roll. Germaid used to be a singer in a Country, Folk & Rock'n'Roll band. There she turned into a classical stage hog with a big mouth. In her own music, Germaid sticks to her mother tounge - German. What you get out of this: Folk and Country music in German language, with funny and cheeky lyrics, as well as deep emotions and sometimes a bit of profoundness.

„How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.“ (Anne Frank)

Frequently Germaid is going on tour through Europe with her bright red VW bus called „Bobby“ since the year 2012. From time to time cello player Clara is keeping her company on her journeys. Following the tradition of a traveling troubadour Germaid is playing mostly House Concerts and is singing folk music in all different languages of the world. She's also singing German folk songs to create a new understanding for the musical culture of Germany. By means of music Germaid is trying to break down national boundaries of Europe, boundaries of the world and is trying to overcome the boundaries in people's heads.

„You must be the change you wish to see in the world.“ (Mahatma Gandhi)

On the 21st of December 2012, the day of the apocalypse, Germaid was calling for a global „world reload“ with her single „Welt Nr. 2“ („world no. 2“). The plan: We are pushing the reset button to start a new.
Germaid is singing about narcissists, that be turned on by the poverty of others; about cholerical car drivers, that hooting their horn on old grannies on a traffic light; about politicians, grumblers, rassists; she's slipping into the role of a chicken, singing a song about life on a fattening farm. In her lyrics Germaid is making fun of difficulties in our society in an ironical way. Is it allowed to laugh? Why not! Laughing relieves! Laughing relieves us out of our limited world!
